Update/Prayer Request: I have recently applied for candidacy to earn my Masters Degree (ThM) in Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. Prayers that The LORD would have His will with me. I am personally hoping and praying that I will be accepted into the program and that I will be able to learn more and be more effective in the ministry the LORD has called me to.
Deuteronomy 31:12-13 encourages us to, “ Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the LORD your God and carefully observe all of the words of this law, and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God as you live in the land which you cross the Jordan to possess.
Gather: We believe that gathering together for the purpose of fellowship is critical to the body of believers. It is through gathering together that we have Christian community, accountability, encouragement, edification, correction and reproof. We also believe that by gathering together regularly we can exercise our spiritual giftedness amongst the members of the body of Christ.  (Hebrews 10:25)
Hear: We believe that hearing the Word of God is essential in the life of a believer. Our lives are enriched by the Word of God when it is taught in its proper context and then applied to our daily living and our faith is increased. (Romans 10:17)
Fear: We believe that it is a natural response for the believer to submit to the LORD in reverence. It is by honoring God and keeping His commandments that we show our love for our creator. A reverential fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. (Psalm 111:10, Matthew 10:28)
Observe We believe that the Christian life is caught more effectively than it can be taught. While we place a great emphasis on the teaching of the Word of God, we also understand that living out, and modeling the Christian walk through discipleship is imperative to the believer. (1 Corinthians 11:1)
Learn: We believe that learning about God by a careful understanding of the Word of God is the single most important practice for believers. When we learn from the Bible we are better prepared to live out the tenants of our faith. (Romans 10:14, Proverbs 1:5, Titus 2:1)
Possess: We believe the Christian life is the believers most valued possession. The Christian life begins with salvation, and is accompanied by repentance, forgiveness of sins, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. As believers our primary aim is to conform to the image of Christ.(Philippians 2:5)
To reach our  online community with the full counsel of the Word of God. To minister to them by providing Distinctive Discipleship based upon fundamental concepts unique to those of Calvary Chapel. Our mission is directed at preparing believers to go out into their spheres of influence and share the hope that binds all believers together. Our mission is to reach the lost with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. I draw from I Corinthians 9:19-23 to this end. Our goal is not to achieve numbers in the sense of seats filled, but to achieve numbers of Christ-lovers who are armed with the message of Jesus Christ, that are so in love with the LORD that they can’t help but share His love with others. This kind of growth is exponential and far surpasses any growth models that some churches stake their existence upon. We understand that our mission is to share the message of Jesus. Our mission is to be a tool by which the Holy Spirit can reproduce fishers of men. As an extension of our mission we desire to help those who attend to learn how to live out the Scriptures on a daily basis through a faithful presentation of the Word of God. We know that the Gospel message is the most important message to all humanity. We want to lead people to the cross where they might embrace the lover of their souls, Jesus Christ. Therefore, our mission is embodied by the simple truth found in the Bible and it alone.
Where many ministries focus on saving the lost we understand that it is the work of the Holy Spirit that accomplishes this great and glorious task. Our purpose is to to use our spiritual giftedness to help establish a venue for the LORD to do His amazing work and then faithfully minister to those whom the LORD has saved. The work of the Holy Spirit is awe inspiring and to share in the privilege of participating in His work is our souls desire, and yet we feel that once a person is born again they must be discipled along the way as the LORD, who began the good work and will be faithful to complete it, allows us to minister His Word and encourage His saints. Our passion for the lost is of equal importance and so it is our intended purpose to to be a beacon of light in our community  that sinners both saved and unsaved can run to as the LORD places the urgency upon their hearts. Our primary purpose is to deliver the Word of God, faithfully and completely. We are not out to win the favor of men, but this does not mean that we are not hospitable. We are not out to appease worldly living, although we all are sinners and need desperately to be restored to a right relationship with Jesus Christ and can empathize with the lost and then show them to the cross. And so to sum up our purpose succinctly: It is our purpose to fulfill His purposes, on purpose! This is what we know the LORD has called us to.
Greetings! ¬†I live in Richmond, Texas and we are looking to see if anyone might like to join me¬†for a regular weekly Bible study. My desire¬†is to one day plant a church as the LORD allows, and while this new fellowship is not officially affiliated with Calvary Chapel Association, if the LORD permits we would hope to affiliate with Calvary Chapel as the He sees fit. I am simply waiting for my leadership to recognize the calling and send me out. Why Calvary Chapel? Quite frankly it is all I have ever known. If you are not familiar with Calvary Chapel it is the largest non-denominational church in the world. Having come from Calvary Chapel and being a part of the LORD’s work through Calvary Chapel for over 20 years, we know and understand the distinctive way in which church governance, teaching and worship is done in Calvary Chapel’s around the globe and we affirm and agree with the effective way in which this particular model has reached people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our primary desire is to see the message of Jesus permeate our culture and impact lives for His glory!
